    9 to 3Thurston Fox's Shop

April meeting moved to second Saturday because of Tried Iron show on third Saturday.

The April 2014 meeting of the Central Arkansas Chapter of the Blacksmith Organization of Arkansas will be held Saturday, April 12th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 PM at the forge of Thurston Fox, located at 53 Brannon Landing Road, Conway, AR 72032.

    1. Get on Interstate 40, and go to the Mayflower exit (exit 135) between Little Rock and Conway.
    2. If you are coming from Little Rock, cross over the interstate.
    3. Turn right at the light onto 365, which runs alongside the freeway towards Conway.
    4. Stay on 365 for about three miles. Brannon Landing will be on your right. Just before you get there, you’ll see Linn’s gas station on your left, then you’ll cross part of Lake Conway. Brannon Landing is just after you cross the water. There appear to be two blacktop roads. The first is a driveway, the second is Brannon Landing.
    5. Take Brannon Landing back over the freeway, and turn left at the stop sign. 53 Brannon Landing will be on your left. You can’t miss it. There’s a white picket fence around the back yard. The forge is out back under an open-sided metal-roofed carport.

If you get lost, give us a call. My cell is (501) 993-4229 The trade item is “something gender-appropriate for your significant other”. My daughters are always asking me to make them something, and I'm fresh out of ideas. Help a brother out!

    FROM THE NORTH

From Yellville take 14 a short distance, turn right onto 235. A short distance past Bruno, 235 turns left, stay on 235, turn right onto 65, continue to Western Grove.
From Harrison and points further east, take 123 at Western Grove to Mt Judea.

Watch for the 3 houses with the faded white board fences. Just past this point you will cross a small concrete slab. Very shortly turn left over a low water bridge. Continue until you come to an old house on the right and a mobile home with a tin roof built over it on the left. Stay on the main road which bears right and starts up the mountain. After some sharp curves you come to our house on the right.
